Description:  Cabbage leaves stuffed with meat and rice in sauerkraut.  A great side dish with ham or Kolbasi.  .

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large head of Cabbage

  • 1 1/2 cups of rice

  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef, turkey, or lamb.

  • 1 chopped onion

  • 1 - 2 pound package of sauerkraut

  • Salt, pepper, and garlic to taste

Special Cooking Items:

  • None

Preparation Instructions:
  • Parboil cabbage until able to loosen leaves and and soft enough to roll with filling.

  • Cook rice as directed.

  • Combine rice, raw meat, onion and spices.

  • Roll into the cabbage leaves and layer in the pot with drained sauerkraut.

  • Cover with water and cook 1 hour before serving.
