Arizona Vacation - 2002

Up The Grand Canyon Montezuma's Castle Sedona

This portion of the Valko's.Net site is dedicated to Mom and Dad Wackler.  They watched our 'Doodlebug' (Natalie) so we could have a little getaway for our 10th anniversary.  This five day vacation allowed us to see some of the highlights of Northern Arizona.  During this trip we stayed a night at the Grand Canyon, spent two nights in Sedona, and finished up the trip with a night in Scottsdale.  As you'll see from the many photos, the weather was fantastic: No humidity, very little rain, and comfortable temperatures during the day.  Although we didn't get to see everything Arizona has to offer, we had a great time and it left the door open for a future visit.

The scenery and significant change in climate are the standouts in this vacation.  From Phoenix, a four hour drive north past Sedona, through Flagstaff, and ultimately ending at the Grand Canyon is a climb of 6000 feet through the most amazing rock formations.  During that trip, the daily low temperatures dropped from the mid-seventies Phoenix to the high twenties at the top of the Grand Canyon.

Below is a map of Arizona that I thought would be a neat way to show off our trip.  Red zones indicate areas we visited.  By clicking on them, you will be taken to separate pages that have photos and commentary of our trip.

I hope you enjoy this part of the web.  By the way, all the pictures on this web were taken with my Olympus C-3030.  Great camera.
