This portion of the Valko's.Net site is dedicated to Mom and
Dad Wackler. They watched our 'Doodlebug' (Natalie) so we could have a
little getaway for our 10th anniversary. This five day vacation
allowed us to see some of the highlights of Northern Arizona. During
this trip we stayed a night at the Grand Canyon, spent two nights in Sedona,
and finished up the trip with a night in Scottsdale. As you'll see
from the many photos, the weather was fantastic: No humidity, very little
rain, and comfortable temperatures during the day. Although we didn't
get to see everything Arizona has to offer, we had a great time and it left
the door open for a future visit.
The scenery and significant change in climate are the standouts in this
vacation. From Phoenix, a four hour drive north past Sedona, through
Flagstaff, and ultimately ending at the Grand Canyon is a climb of 6000 feet
through the most amazing rock formations. During that trip, the daily
low temperatures dropped from the mid-seventies Phoenix to the high twenties
at the top of the Grand Canyon.
