Hershey Park - August 10-11, 2002

This is our second visit to Hershey Park.  This year, we had a great time with the Furmanski family.  The mix of rides was a little more advanced this year since Natalie is nearing 3 years old.  We actually went on a real roller coaster (The Trailblazer) twice with Natalie and she loved it.   This park has an impressive 41 rides for kids under 42".  This made it easy to keep them busy.

When we arrived at the park, we started with the Trolley Tour, and after lunch, continued with the Chocolate Tour, and the 3D movie (pretty cool). From about 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM we waited for our room in the lobby of the lodge and then went to dinner at 6.  We were able to take advantage of the preview tickets and get to the park around 8 PM.  This allowed us to get on some of the rides and see the laser show at 10:00 PM.

The next day, we had breakfast in the lodge and was in the park by about 11:00 AM.  From there, we spent until about 5:30 PM on rides except for a Seal and Dolphin show at 12:45 PM

We stayed in the Hershey Lodge for one night.  For the amount of money, it was a bit disappointing in both service and quality of the room.  Check-in was ridiculously late, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM, and the line at check-in was crazy no matter what time of day.  They offered bus service over to the park but at one point the lines were so long and the buses were so far apart, we ended up driving over rather than waiting an hour to get on a bus.  If we go again, the Holiday Inn will likely be our next selection.

Remember this shot from last year?

Yep, it's still there.

They begged and begged...

We finally decided to go on the trolley tour of Hershey.

A Big Blue House

Oops, can't remember what important building this was...

Donny showing us how to down a pizza slice.

Look up there Dad! Aliens!

Watching the Big Wheel!

She has been looking forward to this ride for about a month, and the time has finally arrived.

Train Pals

Daydreaming

Don, Janet, and Donny decide to get wet.

Unfortunately they didn't know to lean forward a little to avoid the back splash. This picture shows the water getting them from behind. Heck, it felt good since it was so hot.

After the soaking.

Laser Show at 10:00PM

Fooled around with the exposure on my camera to get this shot.

Chicken Dance

Yes, the crowd was into the chicken dance.

Aerial view of Hershey Park

This is from Natalie's favorite ride, the Big Wheel. A.K.A, the Giant Wheel.

Eb and Duke

This is a picture of Eb singing.

Natalie taking Daddy for a Ride

She really did steer most of the way. Phew, luckily I got 13 more years before I really have to worry.

Lady Bug Ride

This ride was fast and scary! Thank goodness Natalie and Donny were there to keep me calm.

Mr. Rolo

Natalie got more and more brave as we met more of these characters around the park.

Rocket Ride

This was our favorite action ride until we found the TrailBlazer roller coaster.

Had to do the LadyBug ride again.

Natalie and the Hershey Kiss.

A little nervous by herself, Natalie hung in there long enough for me to get a picture. Thank you little sweetie pie.
